NASA Earthdata Worldview: This site is one of NASA’s primary satellite data visualization platforms, where current and historical imagery can be browsed and downloaded. You can find global and location-specific data layers by discipline or natural phenomenon.

NASA Earth Observatory: This website is a resource for high-definition still images and global maps derived from NASA satellites. You can search by theme or location, and learn from each image’s descriptive captions.

NASA Socioeconomic Data and Applications Center (SEDAC): The SEDAC website contains Earth observation data that elaborates upon social and environmental dynamics, all of which connect to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), in a project managed by Columbia University's Center for Integrated Earth System Information (CIESIN). Imagery can be browsed and downloaded from this repository by creating a free login.

European Union (EU) Copernicus Global Human Settlement Layer (GHSL): This website contains global population data from the European Union Copernicus Earth observation program. Users can access datasets and other visualizations on local to global scales to understand urban densities.

The Earth Observations Toolkit for Sustainable Cities and Human Settlements: This toolkit contains Earth observation datasets and tools for analysis of urban sustainability topics. You can consider including the data resources and use cases from this site in your project.

WorldPop: WorldPop contains open source population data that can illuminate urban change and population densities for individual countries and at global scale.

EU Copernicus Services Catalogue: This is the full collection of Earth observation datasets from the Copernicus services. Users can search for data on land use, climate change, atmospheric conditions, marine areas, and more.

World Resources Institute (WRI) Data Explorer: This is the central data repository for WRI’s open data programs. It contains data on urban landscapes, ecosystems, weather and climate, and economic activity.

Canadian Space Agency (CSA)

Radarsat Constellation Mission (RCM) - Data Portal: The RADARSAT Constellation Mission (RCM) is Canada's new generation of Earth observation satellites. The RCM includes a trio of Earth observation satellites, capable of scanning Earth day or night and in any weather conditions. The RCM is designed to provide effective solutions in three main areas: Maritime surveillance (ice, surface wind, oil pollution and ship monitoring); Disaster management (mitigation, warning, response and recovery); and Ecosystem monitoring (agriculture, wetlands, forestry and coastal change monitoring).

Brazilian Space Agency (AEB)

Brazilian National Spatial Data Infrastructure (INDE): The INDE geospatial database offers a wide range of territorial information produced by Brazilian government agencies, including thematic maps, satellite imagery, land use, infrastructure, and environmental data. The platform integrates interactive tools for searching, visualizing, and downloading datasets, supporting public access and informed decision-making. All data are openly available through the INDE portal, which enables users to filter and explore spatial information across different regions and topics.

Brazilian Space Research Institute (INPE) Catalogue: INPE's images Catalog provides a database with thousands of images generated by more than 16 satellites, with resolutions varying from 2 meters to 64 meters. Cameras include Multispectral, wide field imagers, panchromatic, among others. All images are available to the public in the linked platform, which integrates search tools for filtering the database.
