YOUR LOCAL LEAD

My name is Chris! I’m a member of the NASA Space Apps Global Organizing (GO) Team. I’ll be your Universal Event Local Lead for the 2025 NASA Space Apps Challenge. I’ll be available from now until the end of the hackathon to answer your questions, connect you to resources, and help you find teammates. Please feel free to email me with questions at info@spaceappschallenge.org. As I receive new information about the 2025 NASA Space Apps Challenge, I’ll send updates to all Universal Event participants through Space Apps Messages. You can access your messages by hovering over your profile image (top right corner of the main menu) and selecting the “messages” option in the dropdown. Please be sure to check your messages for the latest news!

FIND ANSWERS TO YOUR NASA SPACE APPS QUESTIONS

You can find basic information to guide your NASA Space Apps journey under the “Resources” tab (above). Make sure to check out the Participant FAQ and other guides (Team Formation, Space Apps Connect, Project Submission, etc.) once they are available. All guides will be posted on the Resources page.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE

After you register for the 2025 NASA International Space Apps Challenge, you can choose the Universal Event or other Local Events by selecting "2025 Local Events" under the “Explore the Hackathon” tab in the menu bar. From there, you can select which Local Event you would like to participate in!
Familiarize yourself with the NASA Space Apps Resources. Start with the Participant FAQ.
Regularly check your Space Apps Messages for updates from me and the GO Team about important hackathon milestones.
If you are 18 or older, feel free to join Space Apps Connect once it becomes available in late September! In mid-late August, you can also start forming teams and use the Team Finder tool. You will be able to form a team with members from any Local Event or create a team with other members of the Universal Event. More information on these items will come in August and September!

PROJECT SUBMISSION DEADLINES FOR UNIVERSAL EVENT TEAMS

The submission deadline is October 5 at 11:59 PM local time, according to the team's creator (so if that's you, that's 11:59 PM your time). If someone else created your team, your team needs to submit the project by October 5 at 11:59 PM their time.
