NASA’s JPL Regional Ocean Monitoring System
- Site that provides real-time and retrospective analyses of remote sensing data and ocean model simulations in the Pacific.
Ocean Biology and Biogeochemistry (OBB) Funded Projects:
- This site is a comprehensive list of previously funded NASA OBB projects. These projects research and contain many of the same or similar elements that could be included in the app.

Surface Water and Ocean Topography (SWOT)
- This page provides information about the Surface Water and Ocean Topography (SWOT) mission. This mission, led by NASA and Frances' space agency (CNES) with contributions from the CSA and the UK Space Agency, provides new and detailed information on one of the most important resources we share – water. This information should help participants better understand the importance of surface water.
Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) - Critical Habitat of Species at Risk
- The Species at Risk (SAR) Program is responsible for carrying out DFO’s mandate under the Species at Risk Act (SARA) to protect, recover and conserve all listed aquatic SAR in Canada. Critical habitat is identified for species listed as Endangered or Threatened under the Species at Risk Act (SARA). This could help you better understand which species are at risk in your area.
Environment and Climate Change Canada - Open Government Portal
- Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) has various datasets on water quality (including the release of harmful substances in bodies of water), as well as air quality and biodiversity. If you live in Canada, some of these datasets might help you with this challenge.
Watching marine wildlife
